The current record for the most dumplings eaten is set by competitive eater Molly Schuyler who has been taking the competitive eating world by storm. She will return this year in an attempt to set another tough-to-beat record of over 93 pieces in 2 minutes. One man and one woman will receive a grand prize of $2,000. Second and third place winners of each division will win $1000 and $500 respectively.

The day of festivities will be hosted by YouTube duo Mike and Dan Chen, whose channel (“Double Chen”) is focused on delivering interesting news and current events with their engaging banters; they have over 138,000+ subscribers. Mike also has his own channel called “Strictly Dumpling” (how appropriate) with over 175,000 subscribers and is focused on all things food (buffet and restaurant visits, classic Asian recipes, food reviews, and much more).

100% of all proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Food Bank For New York CityFood Bank has served for over 30 years as the city’s major hunger-relief organization working to end food poverty throughout the five boroughs. 1.5 million New Yorkers rely on Food Bank’s programs and services.  During the past year, the need for emergency food in our city has increased.  New York City has a meal gap of 242 million meals; that is, New York City residents who experience food insecurity fall short of an adequate diet by 242 million meals in a single year.  The Meal Gap, adapted as the City’s official measure of food insecurity, has now been geographically mapped to reveal where hunger lives – enabling Food Bank to allocate resources to areas with the highest need across New York City. The day of activities is hosted by Chef One along with various local sponsors that made the event possible.

Since 2004, Chef One Corp., a leading food manufacturer based in Brooklyn, has been hosting the NYC Dumpling Festival with its famous Dumpling Eating contest as a way to give back to the community. Chef One Dumpling can be found at many local super markets; such as Fairway, Shoprite, etc.

General admission into the event is free! A tasting ticket can be purchased for $20, which entitles the ticketholder up to four tastings from participating booths and entry into the giveaway.  The ticket can be purchased in advanced on Eventbrite and on-site at the event.
